This "surprise" web analyst "geek" (as she defines herself in your Twitter profile ) could make history at the gala scheduled for March 15 in San Francisco , which are fighting for the prizes of 'rising star' and 'most influential contributor' of an industry which became their passion.

«Where is Avinash when needed ?" The title of your blog looks like a premonition, as the guru of web analytics has been one of the first to second your nomination for the awards of the Web Analytics Association.
is true. I could not choose better name for my blog in the time since then met in person to great guru web analytics, Avinash Kaushik and he has been the main reason that my work became my passion. Knows how to transmit in a enviable, besides being a professional who fully supports you no matter who you are, the proof is that my candidacy has been supported throughout
his circle of influence ... and it seems that heeded him:) It's my role model. What did you think after hearing your nomination for these awards?
I got the notice from Mike Levin, Executive Director of the Web Analytics Association , that more than 50 people had submitted my nomination (in the first round open to anyone who wants to propose a candidate). This was my first surprise as I did not expect at all that someone compile information to present my candidacy, the nomination process is rather long and tedious especially when you have to do it in English ... And in two different categories! The second surprise
came when I was confirmed as a finalist in one category. In this second round can only vote for members of the association and in Spain we are only nine people ... so the vast majority of international members of the WAA did not know me and I do not expect him to give me your vote. That's when I learned that Avinash Kaushik had supported my nomination, if it was not very difficult to become a finalist.
Rather than thinking, after learning of my nomination and finalist status, what I felt was a huge thrill to know that in my profession with me on the way people who trust me and support me unconditionally, enough to invest their time and charisma to try to take me the award. It's indescribable the dream I'm living, and no matter who wins or not, this does not change it for anything:)
're nominated in the 'Contributor industry's most influential "and" Future star of web analytics "," , which one are you most identified?, what chance do you think you have to win on each one?
I was nominated in both categories and I feel more comfortable in "Web Analytics Rising Star" since I really started doing web analytics. Was competing with real gurus of this discipline and would not be real, I still have much to learn and above all enjoy.
really important thing is not so much about the possibilities of winning, but the knowledge that anyone with their job can expect to win the prize, no matter where you come from, where you are or where you want to go. If you get passion, no limits. So it really does not matter the result, I've won:)
Three of the five nominees for "web analytics rising star" you are women. Is it an exception or a rule in the universe 2.0?
Since my start in the profession, I have focused on evangelizing everywhere analytics web and especially women. In Madrid at the beginning we were only two girls to attend the monthly meeting of web analytics, the Conversion Thursday, we are now more than half and is sensational. Hence
out "Geek Girls Madrid, which is a subsidiary of the global movement in Madrid Geek Girls, made up of women involved professionally with technology, which provides a platform for the dissemination of web analytics and other technical disciplines related to the Internet, where anyone can share ideas, to network and be on the cutting edge innovation. We have a blog about web analytics prestige in the sector: Http://www.madridgirlgeekdinners.es
The universe 2.0. has room for everyone, but the gurus are mostly men. This is changing, in addition to the three women nominated in the category you compete this year as a finalist in the category "Most Influential INDUSTRY Contributor " is also a woman, Emer Kirrane.
Many colleagues have joined the campaign to support your nomination and to have designed a virtual sheet for it. How do you feel about the support received?
Both the promoters of this nomination: Gema Mora and Nancy Guillén as those who have assisted in the first and second rounds have shown me that anything is possible. I feel privileged. It's enough to enjoy the day to day with my profession, but also to be accompanied and supported at this point makes me privileged.
And when Fernando de Pablo and colleagues designed the plate as Pilar de Teran, Sandra Moreno, Cesar Morales Paco Fernandez and put it in their avatars on Twitter and Facebook, and when George, Nancy and other Madrid Geek Girls (Barbara Mackey , Ana Informant, Marta Gozalo, Pamela Vasquez, Noe Santos, Zaida Santiago, Beatriz Mariscal and Paula Sánchez) shared hashtag # SorprendidaRisingStar created by Paco Morales and were imitated by many twitter, that's when you realize that what matters is less the prize.
How, when and where he began working as web analyst?, What information has to be an analyst?
Yo came into the world of web analytics by chance in 2005, within the internet department and I Bankinter passion from the start. After passing by another large corporation, Panda Security , I entered fully into the world of strategic consulting to continue growing at a professional level in different sectors.
In my daily work I always find something new, or in connection with tools or in connection with challenges on the web, it makes me feel alive. I'm not sure how I got here but here no one moves me, I love my job and, above all, keep learning and have the feeling that I'll never get bored.
Here comes into play profile analyst. It is not necessary, but it helps to have some technical training to be able to detect whether the implementation is correct and as fully leverage the tools. Know your business, knowing involved. Having left for the hard times and some intuition.
What if this arrangement is that it has the capacity for numbers and above all, common sense. And of course, do not forget the win. To learn the techniques of the hand of the best professionals in the sector, there Madrid Masters specializes in web analytics sponsored by WAA.
